BCC Berlin

At this year's Tag des offenen Denkmals i finally had the opportunity to visit and photograph the BCC (Berliner Congress Center), built between 1961 and 1964 by GDR's chief architect Hermann Henselmann. Admire this timeless beauty of eastern germany's architecture.

Friedrichswerdersche Kirche - Who Knows tomorrow

Stumbled upon this great exposition with installations by african artist Yinka Shonibare MBE in this church built by Karl Friedrich Schinkel between 1824 and 1831. The exhibition is on until 26th of september.

Lemercier & the Lala By at Schwuz

As you might have already heard I am really happy to integrate the Lala By - Project of Steev Lermercier.
I am playing the bass within this artistic 10-people-group, and i'm playing it loud!
It's so much fun to play with all these different people with proper drums, 2 guitars, percussions, background-singers...
The first concert i will be playing will be at Schwuz Kreuzberg on friday 20th of August. We will be diguised as antique greeks and we'll play a cover version of a famous turquish song.
The music is dark and loud, have a listen on myspace
start around 1 p.m, hit me up for guestlist

News june 2010

I'm working on a new album with Jules Etienne. The Project is called "Minivague" and we have been recording around a dozen of songs over the past weeks. Some of them are almost finished, you can find 2 demos here
It's electronic, experimental and darker than what you might have heard from me so far. More to come soon.

Jules Etienne and the Monsantos
continue to be busy, we played a great gig at Basso Gallery yesterday with the lovely Cocteaux. Here are some photos from Steev and Neda.

The next dates for Jules Etienne & the Monsantos:
19th june - Lagari, Neukölln
21st july - Ä, Neukölln
4th august - Schokoladen, Mitte (with Martin Tetzlaff)

some other projects in the pipeline like concerts and festivals in Hamburg, recording in the studios of Deutscher Rundfunk, all still to be confirmed..

French singer/songwriter Initials DC put the "song of steve and jaime" on his myspace, a song he recorded with Jules Etienne at KottKott-Studio featuring me on the bass. Check it out, it's a fantastic Ohrwurm!

Radio and Concerts

Yesterday Jules Etienne was invited to Unsigned at Radio Fritz so we went to Potsdam/Babelsberg to play some songs. It went pretty well and we hope that a lot of people heard it and will support us, for example by coming to the gig
tomorrow at Zur Möbelfabrik, Brunnenstrasse 10, Berlin Mitte.
Here's the recording from the radio Show:

Here are some photos from our sunday-excursion:

And on saturday we will celebrate 1 year of Coconuts-Power.

Approximately at the same time last year we had our first rehearsal with today's lineup: Sandro, Jules Etienne, Valeron and Vera. We had some great concerts that summer before Vera went to discover the world and left us boys back in Berlin. Fortunately she came back a few weeks ago and we are happy to play our reunion-gig coming saturday (24.04.) at Beakers, Prenzlauer Berg.
